Julie Degnan Born in Kingston PA, Julie Degnan began her dance training at the age of 3 with the Degnan Ballet Center, home of Ballet Northeast, under Kristin Degnan-Boonin, Karla Kovatch, and Sara Smith Gravine. Throughout her years of high school and college, she had studied at many professional summer intensives with companies such as Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theatre in NYC, Pennsylvania Ballet, Nashville Ballet, and the Ballet Theatre of Maryland.

 

In 2011, Julie started her college career at the University of the Arts where she studied under Michael Sheridan, Christine Cox, Tara Keating, Douglas Becker, Anne White, Gary Jeter, Tommie Waheed Evans, Sidra Bell and many other world renowned teachers and choreographers.

 In 2014, Julie was accepted to compete at World Ballet Competition in Orlando FL and performed in their All Stars Gala. A year later, Ms. Degnan was hired by the Second Company of Nashville Ballet where she worked professionally and finished her degree through the UArts internship program. Julie had then graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance and received the award for Sustainability. For the 2016-17 season, Julie was hired as an apprentice with the Ballet Theatre of Maryland and in July/August of 2017, she continued her study in Tallinn, Estonia with the Estonian National Ballet.
