Kathy was awarded two merit scholarships and had many performance opportunities at the school including being chosen to dance in an original piece choreographed by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux.

Upon graduation from high school, Kathy continued her studies on scholarship at The Pennsylvania Ballet School, where she had the honor of studying with Lupe Serrano, Fiona Fuerstner, and Dane Lafontsee. She performed with The Pennsylvania Ballet for two years, under the direction Of Robert Weiss.

Kathy has taught dance in local studios for over twenty years, teaching ballet, pointe, jazz, and pre-dance. She has taught at Sandell Studio in Chapel Hill, The Studio Dance and Gymnastics Center in Durham, and Encore Academy of Dance in Durham. She has also been a guest teacher for The Triangle Youth Ballet. Kathy loves working with young children and has founded Tumble Tots, a summer enrichment program for area preschools.
