V. Madison Ford
Ballet and the Performing Arts

Virginia Madison Ford was born and raised in Durham, NC. She started dance at the age of 6 at Bounds Dance Studio in Chapel Hill, NC under Barbara Bounds Malone. When Bounds closed, she transitioned to Legacy Studios (now known as Durham School for Ballet and the Performing Arts). At the age of 15, she attended the Carolina Ballet Summer Intensive. While there she trained with Jan Burkhard Catlin, Margaret Severin-Hansen and Willie Hinton. The following summer, she went to Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet where she had the opportunity to train with their many talented instructors.

While she finished her dance training in high school under Marie Middleton Hopkins, she discovered she loved teaching just as much as she did being on the stage. Madison has performed in many shows such as Clara in Triangle Youth Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker, Russian in Moscow Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker and a musical production of Crazy for You. And through her work with Legacy where she performed in The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Peter Pan, Maddie found her love in working behind the scenes, working on props, costumes, choreographing and stage managing. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, hanging out with friends, spending time with her mom, sister, and her 3 adorable nephew’s, Levi, Joshua, and Oliver.
