Andrea Wolfe
Contemporary and Ballet

Andrea began dancing at the age of three and fell in love with it. Her dance training at Danceworks Conservatory allowed her to perform and tour with the Stars of Tomorrow in several areas of Europe and throughout the United States. Upon attending college she spent most summers at dance intensives such as American Ballet Theatre. Andrea was honored to receive a four-year ballet scholarship to the University of Utah. Under the instruction of world renowned faculty, specific curriculum included: intensive daily technique classes, pointe, variations, choreography, modern dance, jazz, character dance, repertory, partnering, pedagogy, ballet history, kinesiology, pilates mat and reformer, music, mixed media, and technical production. While at the university, she took advantage of the many opportunities to perform and choreograph with the Utah Contemporary Ballet and Spirit and Truth Dance Company. Having had a rewarding and successful experience at the university, she graduated in 2007 with a BFA in Ballet Performance and Teaching and a minor in Nutrition.

While earning her degree, Andrea enjoyed taking classes with Ballet West and volunteering for the Ballet West “I Can Do Program.” She was also actively involved in supporting the Fine Arts College through the student government, the Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU). She was elected and served as a Fine Arts General Assembly Representative and was the College of Fine Arts Senator. She also served on the Fine Arts Fees Committee as the ASUU Representative for two years. During this time, Andrea was responsible for helping promote an increase in student fees so that the College of Fine Arts could continue to deliver high quality programs in the performing arts.

After graduating in 2007 from one of the top rated ballet programs in the nation, Andrea danced professionally in the Kansas City area with Storling Dance Theatre and Reach...a movement collective, inc. Her most memorable performances include The Underground Railroad and The Nutcracker, where she danced as the Sugarplum Fairy. Andrea taught dance at four different studios simultaneously while rehearsing intensively with her dance companies.

Andrea recently relocated to the Triangle Area where she has been enjoying her gift of teaching. She continues to reach out to students and help them grow in their dance careers. Andrea uses creative ways of teaching students of all ages while instilling correct technique and enhancing natural ability. Her teaching qualifications include: ballet, pointe, variations, contemporary, modern, jazz, beginning tap, ballet conditioning, creative movement, and musical theatre dance. Andrea will do whatever it takes to help each student reach his or her full potential.

Andrea recently earned her certification as an ABT instructor for Pre-Primary - Level 3.
